However, on 28 February 2025, the Comptroller General's Department ordered the payment of the first retry payment round to 199,919 target groups, which is the net amount after deducting those whose rights were suspended due to death. The money was successfully transferred to 158,712 people and the money was not successfully transferred to 41,207 people.
The survey found that the reason for the unsuccessful money transfer was that the majority of the target group, 96.49%, had not yet registered for PromptPay to link their savings account with their national ID number. Other reasons, 3.51%, included inactive bank accounts, closed bank accounts, incorrect account numbers or bank accounts subject to conditions, and no bank accounts.
The Ministry of Finance will retry the payment only 2 more times. Therefore, the people who are entitled to the money are requested to check the payment results via the "Tang Rat" application. If it appears that the money transfer was unsuccessful, the people should contact the bank immediately to link the PromptPay to the savings account with the national ID number.
